Pacificus Youth Ministry: Naming CPPPYM afresh

The parishioners, which include the members of the parish youth ministry, are suggested to be peacemakers as the name of the parish indicates.

We are thinking of renaming our Parish Youth Ministry into a three letter acronym that will still bear the name of Christ the Prince of Peace Parish in essence. We consulted a member that is well versed with Latin, i.e. Kim Jayson Villezca. He gave a passage from Matt 5:9a which reads: "Beatus es pacificus" it translates to English “Blessed are the peacemakers.” Consequently, we opted to shorten Christ the Prince of Peace Parish You Ministry into Pacificus Youth Ministry. This will not only avoid the confusion of how many P’s will be articulated in between letters C and YM but also will give the Parish Youth Ministry of Christ the Prince of Peace a unique identity.

The new name Pacificus Youth Ministry will be a.k.a PYM. It will jive with the popular PYM acronym that stands for Parish Youth Ministry. So, for the Christ the Prince of Peace Parish, PYM will still stand for Parish Youth Ministry in conjunction with its new name, PACIFICUS YOUTH MINISTRY. This name change will not, in any form, affect the structure, foundations and vision & mission of the youth ministry. For the members, please be guided accordingly.

To: Among, Fr: an Among in the making || a farewell message of a Pacificus Youth Minister Seminarian.

I can still remember the time when Among Lino left our parish, tears fell into the eyes of many parishioners. I saw a multitude of people whose sentiments are indeed indescribable. Their love for Among Lino was a love like the countless sands in the shore.
On the other hand, there came a man who is tall and looks handsome. His name is Alvin Modesto Siopongco Manalang, a priest from the Christ the King, EPZA Resettlement. He was born at Mabalacat, Pampanga and took his Degree, AB Philosophy at San Carlos Seminary.
The very thing that reminds me of him was when he presided his first Mass in our parish. The Mass then was in English and whenever he took the microphone, he needs to bow in order for him to reach the microphone for he is indeed tall, and he say the Mass in English, Tagalog and Kapampangan at the same time. My very first impression then was Ang gulo naman ni Among mag-misa, ot samut-samut eku makaride. We indeed made a big adjustment on our part and as well as in his part as our parish priest.
Now he is leaving, I want to put into my mind his pangako “Kanaku la reng limang babi pag ma ordina ka keng pangapari”  Yes Among Alvin, I will pursue more in order to achieve my goal. I will never cease on thanking you although you will be apart from us. My deepest gratitude to you will always be in your heart and in the heart of every parishioner.
I don’t know how to thank you Among, for the things that you had given to me. I will no longer mention them for we might take an hour in mentioning them. Among Lino inspired me and you inspired me a lot. You have shown your support to me when the time I will take the exam in the MGCS, take the 3-day interview and lastly you’ve given me the moral, financial and spiritual support upon entering the Seminary. Hope Among that you will continue to pray for me not only for me but for all your parishioners that you’ll be leaving today. Among Alvin please remember us always in the Eucharist.
I wouldn’t say Goodbye Among for I know that we will see each other again. I just don’t know when it would be. And I believe that God will set the best time for us to see each other again.
Thank you Among! And Rest assured of my prayers, support and spiritual closeness to you.

In Christ Jesus,
